Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Kit Hill Landscape Research Project.

This blog is where I’ll be sharing updates, news, and reflections as the project develops. It’s a space to talk openly about what I’m researching, what I’m finding, and how our understanding of Kit Hill’s landscape continues to grow over time.

Kit Hill is a place shaped by people for thousands of years. From prehistoric activity through later farming, mining, and recreation, the hill tells a long and layered story. This project aims to explore that story carefully, using non-invasive methods such as walkover survey, landscape observation, historic sources, and digital analysis. Nothing here involves digging or disturbance — the focus is on understanding what is already present and visible in the landscape.

This blog will be updated as work progresses. Some posts will share fieldwork experiences, others will explore particular features or questions, and some will simply offer project news or reflections. My aim is to make the research accessible, thoughtful, and rooted in respect for the place itself.

If you’re interested in Kit Hill, its history, or how landscapes hold memory over time, I hope you’ll find something here that sparks curiosity and conversation.

More updates coming soon.
